Apture Keeps Readers on Publishers’ Sites with Rich Media Content
Tristan Harris is CEO and CoFounder of Apture.com, a service that helps add additional media content to web sites. In addition to the extended content, Apture keeps readers on the web site, rather than navigating away from the site into a new browser window. Semantics plays a big part in the discovery of related information.
- Wikipedia provides structured data including category names, geocoordinates, and additional information. Apture adds contextually related material to Wikipedia content.
- Freebase is used to find related topics to queries.
- Apture is being leveraged by several large publishers to enhance their internally developed news and information.
Listen to my interview with Tristan for details about how Apture is using semantic technology to deliver rich content.
