Cambridge Semantics Names Chuck Pieper Chairman and CEO

According to a new release out of the company, “Cambridge Semantics [yesterday] announced that Board Member Chuck Pieper has accepted the role of Chairman and CEO at the company. Mr. Pieper brings over 30 years of operating experience and relevant industry experience to his new role, having previously served as President and CEO of seven GE businesses and Vice Chairman of the Alternative Investment business at Credit Suisse’s Asset Management division.”
Pieper commented, “Cambridge Semantics has an experienced team, a stellar customer lineup, and a next-generation Semantic Web technology platform that is well-positioned to solve our customers’ most critical data challenges today… Companies — large and small — face significant challenges merging sources of structured or unstructured data quickly, at low cost, and with user flexibility. The rise of Big Data has further exacerbated this, and Cambridge Semantics has clear solutions to address these challenges. I’m very much looking forward to helping to grow the business further and fully realize the opportunities to bring Unified Information Access to enterprises currently struggling to exploit their data deluge.”
