IHS & SAE Partner to Offer Semantic Access to Engineering Content

IHS and SAE recently announced a new agreement “that leverages IHS Goldfire’s leading semantic technology to unlock the technical research and applied engineering advancements contained in SAE International’s aerospace, automotive and commercial vehicle technical papers (1988-present). Under the agreement, IHS Goldfire will enable engineers, researchers and other innovation practitioners to semantically access full-text indexed SAE Technical Papers.”
The article continues, “Using IHS Goldfire’s state-of-the-art semantic question answering technology, subscribers to the SAE Digital Library can better find, access and leverage the rich content within SAE Technical Papers. Results are categorized and presented in a form that efficiently reveals the information that is essential to making informed decisions about product and process designs. ‘IHS is a global leader in information and analytics,’ said Scott Sward, director of sales and marketing for SAE International. ‘We are pleased to be working with them to help make SAE content a more relevant and useful tool for engineering and academic professionals’.”
