RDB2RDF Working Group Publishes 2 Last Call Working Drafts
Two last call working drafts have been published by the W3C’s RDB2RDF Working Group regarding bringing relational database information to the semantic web. The two papers are entitled R2RML: RDB to RDF Mapping Language and A Direct Mapping of Relational Data to RDF: “The former describes R2RML, a language for expressing customized mappings from relational databases to RDF datasets. Such mappings provide the ability to view existing relational data in the RDF data model, expressed in a structure and target vocabulary of the mapping author’s choice. The latter document defines a direct mapping from relational data to RDF. Comments are welcome through 1 November.”
The group page adds, “These are documents produced outside the RDB2RDF Working Group that will be inputs to the standardization work of RDB2RDF WG. Please alert the co-Chairs or Staff Contact of the Working Group if you know of any material that you think merits inclusion.”
