Qualifications for the position include: “PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related discipline. Proven record of designing algorithmic solutions to real-world applications in data-rich fields such as e-commerce, bioinformatics, or finance. At least three years of experience performing research using R, MATLAB, or other data mining tools. Working knowledge of SQL, Java and scripting languages such as Python. Focus on delivering practical customer facing solutions. Domain knowledge and experience in information retrieval, statistics, machine learning, data mining, natural language processing and algorithm optimization. Ability to distill problem definitions, models, constraints from informal business requirements; and to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives.”
