Columbia University’s International Research Institute for Climate and Society is looking for an Intermediate Programmer/Analyst in New York, NY. This position “Will translate outcomes of research to useable tools for professional, non-specialist, users. Maintains and extends our data services framework. Works closely with researchers to streamline, generalize, and/or automate experimentally developed ideas and transition them to operational systems.”

Qualifications for the position include: “Fluency, and demonstrated experience, in UNIX, FORTRAN and/or C/C++, JAVA, SQL, and code-management software required. OpenGL,Javascript, node.js and semantic technologies RDF/OWL all strong pluses. AJAX, XML/XSL, CSS are also pluses. Looking for Web services and multi-platform GUI development experience. Experience with R or Matlab. Attentive to details, and outcome-oriented; Excellent written and oral English communication skills, with proficiency in additional written or spoken languages a plus.”
