Comcast is looking for an Intern of Software Engineering in Mount Laurel, NJ. According to the post, “Special to the Comcast Engineering & Technology University Program, program participants have the opportunity to connect and network with fellow participants from the moment the program starts at orientation. This community of program participants serves as a support system and an opportunity to ask questions of each other and grow as a team. Develop schema and code to build upon our network topology engine. Involving everything from discovering the topology of the network to representing that in data and, ultimately, visualizing it on screen. Develop use-cases for this data and help improve the inference engine that will drive the API that will be published within the company.”
Qualifications for the internship include: “Desire to enter the Media and Technology industry upon graduation. Well versed in MS Office products: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrates solid decision making skills. Proven analytical, organizational, and problem solving ability. Experience of multiple programming languages, with Python and PHP being strongly desired. C, Perl and others are also useful. Object oriented software and database architecture. Knowledge of computer networking, especially network topologies. Internet network engineering experience a bonus. Experience of graph theory and implementation a bonus. Semantic database experience a bonus, especially knowledge of RDF and SPARQL. NDL implementation also useful. Experience of data visualization a bonus, especially network graph visualization. Experience using Linux (or other Unices) at the shell prompt is required.”
