The Samuel J. Wood Library & C.V. Starr Biomedical Information Center at Cornell is looking for a Web Developer in New York, NY. The post states, “The Web Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and integration of library applications at WCMC, as well as responsibilities in the operation and maintenance of related systems and applications. The Web Developer is responsible for the implementation of library systems for Weill Cornell Medical College. Programs enhancements, bug fixes, and new functionality as necessary towards related projects. Works closely with appropriate Library staff to ensure systems are functioning and to plan enhancements.”

Qualifications for the position include: “College Graduate. Two (2) years minimum working experience in related field. Candidate must have strong knowledge of and demonstrable experience with HTML, JavaScript, and PHP. Candidate must be knowledgeable of system development lifecycle methodologies needed to support the integration of software applications into a service-oriented architecture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Must have the ability to gain knowledge of and master new technologies quickly and thoroughly. Must be able to work in a team setting and establish strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients. Must be able to multi-task, communicate clearly, work independently, provide accurate time estimates, and maintain rigorous attention to detail. Experience working with LDAP, Active Directory, MySQL, and content management systems is desired. Familiarity with XML, RDF, SPARQL and OWL is preferred.”
