Cornell’s Legal Information Institute is looking for a Text Systems Developer in Ithaca, NY. According to the post, “The Text Systems Developer will develop database-driven Web information services and Semantic Web applications that deliver judicial opinions, legislation, regulations, and other legal information and services to a global audience, including web sites, database applications, and utilities, products, and services for the Legal Information Institute, the largest non-commercial legal website on the Internet.”
Qualifications for the position include: “Knowledge of one or more popular open-source scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby or Perl. Experience with text-processing applications and development of Web services. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of XML/SGML, XSLT, XQuery, RDF, and SPARQL. Experience in XML conversion of large, semi structured text corpora. Experience in developing Linked Data applications and services. Experience with legal information and/or digital-library systems. Experience with legislation-management systems. Experience in large-scale publishing of Linked Data resources and development of Semantic Web resources. Experience with SKOS and OWL a plus. Background in text processing and/or information retrieval.”
