Creative Commons is looking for a Project Manager – Learning Resources Metadata Initiative (LRMI) in Mountain View, CA. The post states, “Creative Commons is a global nonprofit organization that enables knowledge, sharing, and creativity through its legal and technical tools. We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the Learning Resources Metadata Initiative (LRMI), a project co-led by Creative Commons and the Association of Educational Publishers to build a common metadata vocabulary for educational resources. The LRMI Project Manager is a full time, one year position reporting to CC’s Director of Global Learning and works closely with the Education and Technology teams, as well as with policy and legal staff.”

Qualifications for the position include: “Expertise and interest in connecting Creative Commons issues intelligently, coherently, and in scope with our mission with regard to copyright and related technology policy issues (including LRMI). Thorough understanding of open licensing, open education and the importance of meta-data. Direct experience with project management tools. Expertise in supporting software engineering and integration processes, including issue management, debugging, scripting. Understanding of software and data integration technologies, including HTML, metadata, RDF, and XML, and ability to interface between domain experts, policy makers, and engineers regarding such technologies. Independent and self-motivated worker, able to work with limited day-to-day oversight and supervision.”
