Facebook is looking for a Partner Engineer (Data Applications) in Menlo Park, CA. According to the post, “Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Facebook Platform into their Web sites, applications, and devices. This role demands an in-depth understanding of complex issues related to semantics, data modeling, platform architecture, application development, and management. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of professional data analysis and systems architecture experience, including both relational database and semantic modeling work.”

 

Responsibilities of this position include: “Extending and optimizing existing MySQL database schemas. Analyzing evolving needs and creating new schemas. Defining domain solutions based on semantic standards (RDF/RDFS/OWL). Architecting systems that bridge relational and semantic technologies. Design and develop REST APIs to provide access to various semantic services. Setup and maintain basic application services on AWS. Management of a small team of engineers.” Qualifications include: “Previous experience (15+ years) as a software engineer, systems architect, development manager, and/or data analyst. A deep understanding of and practical experience with designing, deploying, scaling and optimizing MySQL databases. Experience building applications and APIs with Java, JSPs, HTML, JavaScript, JSON.”
