GE’s Global Research segment is looking for a Semantic Scientist in Niskayuna, NY. According to the post, “As a Semantic Lead Scientist, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop tools and ontologies for application to a diverse set of industrial, service and financial problems. You will demonstrate a strong technical background and independently execute projects in areas of model development, semantic and ontology technology specification and development, and information extraction.”

Qualifications for the position include: “Doctorate degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 3 years of experience in developing semantic, semantic web and ontology based tools and applications. Advanced training and experience in semantics, ontologies and knowledge representation. In depth experience in Semantic-web or ontology applications and one of Resource Description Framework (RDF) or the Web Ontology Language (OWL) or similar modern reasoning and knowledge representation (KR) framework such as Knowledge Interchange Format (KIF or SUO-KIF).”
