The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is looking for a Software Systems Architect in Pasadena, CA. According to the post, this person will “Be a member of the Mission Control Systems Section (393) Software and Information Architecture Group (393A) and report to the Group Supervisor. Will lead the design and implementation of the Advanced Multi-Mission Operations System (AMMOS) Information Architecture. Will direct the activities of multiple subsystems engineering teams in understanding, representing, and normalizing the information exchanges between and their subsystems and how those exchanges interact with the various operations teams and processes. Will lead key portions of the next-generation AMMOS architecture particularly high profile tasks.”

 

Qualifications for the position include: “Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 9 years of related experience; Masters degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 5 years related experience. Expertise in capturing, analyzing and representing enterprise information using formal information architecture approaches (e.g., ontologies) and tools (e.g., RDF, RDFS, OWL, DAML, SPAEQL, etc.). Proven ability identifying key information concepts and exchanges in space data systems.  Excellent communications skills and proven ability to build cohesive teams and coordinate activities across multiple independent groups. Desired Skills:  Expert knowledge of the semantics associated with the Systems Engineering Markup Language.”
