The Ohio State University College of Medicine is looking for a Biomedical Informatics Consultant in Columbus, OH. The post states that this position “Functions as a Biomedical Informatics Software Engineer to work in the Biomedical Informatics Department; participates in full lifecycle application development; designs and supports complex scientific software development and deployment for basic and clinical research studies; identifies and resolves hardware and software issues; works with a team of scientific software and application developers to design and implement integrated application software and databases; interacts with biomedical researchers, providing technical expertise and developing successful solutions to meet their requirements.”

Qualifications for the position include the following: “Master’s degree in computer & info science or electrical engineering or an equivalent combination of education/experience required; considerable experience in software development and/or administration required; knowledge of and experience with Java, C/C++, SOA, MDA, Linux and data structures required; experience with semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL, triple stores, linked data) preferred; experience in a research environment preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.”
