Semantic Web Jobs: University of Malta

The University of Malta has a PhD position open in the area of social semantic web research. The post states, “The University of Malta would like to recruit a Project Officer – Assistant Researcher on a full-time basis, for a period of two years. The work involved is primarily to oversee the implementation of project The Hub. This project and this post will be part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Italia-Malta programme 2007-2013.”

The post continues, “Applicants should be in possession of a Masters degree in Computational Linguistics or Computer Science. The candidate should have experience in semantic web techniques, be familiar with social media and their use as well as with knowledge extraction and formalisation. An additional year of funding to complete a Ph.D. thesis is envisaged. Applications should be received by not later than noon of Friday, 27th May 2011 and should be sent to Ms. Tania Attard (tania.attard@um.edu.mt).”
