Viacom is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer in Washington, DC. According to the post this position will, “In close alignment with Application Development, architect and integrate the server infrastructure and related components for business productivity applications. Architecture of required server infrastructure for new applications including redundancy, load balancing and high availability methodology as well as related documentation including functional and logical diagrams.  Integration of said server infrastructure. In accordance with established standards, development and documentation of operational procedures, monitoring, automation and tools as required. Systems analysis and capacity planning. 3rd level escalation for incident management.”

Qualifications for the position include: “Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and other MS server technologies including IIS, SQL Server, Sharepoint, etc. Solid understanding of Microsoft .NET, J2EE and other application server technologies. Solid understanding of Clustering, Load Balancing and related technologies & methods of achieving high availability, redundancy and scalability. Solid understanding of Active Directory and other Network Services. CCNA, CCIE, VMWare, ITIL, security certifications. Linux/UNIX experience. Formal Programming (Java, .NET, C, C++, etc.). Database Administration. Semantic Web, OWL Ontologies. Production and Broadcast experience.”
