Callimachus LogoThe Callimachus Project has announced that the latest release of the Open Source version of Callimachus is available for immediate download.
Callimachus began as a linked data management system in 2009 and is an Open Source system for navigating, managing, visualizing and building applications on Linked Data.
Version 1.0 introduces several new features, including:
  • Built-in support for most types of Persistent URLs (PURLs), including Active PURLs.
  • Scripted HTTP content type conversions via XProc pipelines.
  • Ability to access remote Linked Data via SPARQL SERVICE keyword and XProc pipelines.
  • Named Queries can now have a custom view page. The view page can be a template for the resources in the query result.
  • Authorization can now be performed based on IP addresses or the DNS domain of the client.

Bottlenose Launches New Features, Early-Access Beta of Pro Version

Bottlenose has released several new features based on client feedback. According to the company, “We’ve redesigned the way you can post messages in Bottlenose. You can easily select a list of your many accounts or Facebook pages and post an update (This also works for reposts and replies). Also, we now autocomplete usernames on Twitter so you can easily mention, reply or DM someone.” There is good news for Bitly users as well: “You can now add your Bitly account, which enables you to use your own custom URL shortener when publishing messages. We shattered previous records for consumption across desktops, mobiles, tablets and TVs. We found that TV and mobile usage grew by orders of magnitude and we’ve seen sustained growth afterwards. With 24 live streams and 2500 hours of VOD available across all these devices, our challenge was to ensure that audiences could find the events they wanted to watch. With the Olympics we introduced the Interactive Video Player (IVP) with the chapter markings and event switching.” Read more
