There has been much hype as of late surrounding the effect Google +1s have on search ranking. Theories are constantly circulating through the blogs, only to be shot down by other bloggers. Everyone has their own opinions on the matter – especially because Google chooses not to reveal ranking factors out of fear that the system will get manipulated. However, Moz recently posted a blog claiming that a direct correlation had been found between Google +1s and higher search rankings. Moz’s post went so far as to say that the correlation found was higher than any other established ranking factors. The author, Cyrus Shepard, even listed sites that boosted rank with only Google +1s.
