RainVac has just launched a new web site, which they claim is the most advanced site on the Internet, utilizing fully compliant Semantic technologies and displaying on all devices. Vertex Worldwide, Inc. announced today that their RainVac division’s new web site has been launched, incorporating all the latest technologies to provide users with an ideal experience. The site makes extensive use of XHTML+RDFa technology, making it state-of-the-art in terms of rapidly developing semantic search capabilities.
Ruckman went on to say that they tried to find other sophisticated sites that were utilizing the same technologies, but that while some went partway, none were fully invested in maximizing their sites’ capabilities. ”The consultant who managed our development searched far and wide and couldn’t find another site that even came close to the level of technology we’re utilizing. Our shopping cart alone, which is a customized product, accomplishes more than most highly sophisticated sites achieve. We are not only ready for the Semantic Web, whenever that takes shape, we’re contributing to it!”
Ruckman is referring not only to the site itself, but also to their custom cart, which is also RDFa driven, providing a great deal more information to search engines than is visible to the site’s visitors. The cart, called RDFaCart, was developed by SEO Workers. John Britsios, CIO of SEO Workers, was the consultant responsible for RainVac’s development project. We asked Britsios for his comments regarding what makes this site so special.
“There are many ecommerce sites utilizing some degree of semantic markup, which is a specialized markup language designed to convey a great deal of information to the search engines. RDFa tells the search engines about the company, the products, relationships, locations and more, in a way that is invisible to users. We also used Open Graph, for the same reason. Users aren’t interested in such things – they simply want to see the features and the value in your product.
“But we also considered every possible aspect of security, usability and accessibility in the structure of the site, while making it easy for visitors to find exactly what they’re looking for and complete their transaction quickly and painlessly. The level of on-page SEO we utilized is totally unprecedented. It doesn’t matter whether they’re using a desktop computer, tablet, iPhone or a Blackberry… the site incorporates Responsive Web Design, providing any Internet device with a smooth and seamless experience.”
